Angus Mackay

Angus Mackay worked on commercial and residential property transactions in the early 2000s before taking an MSc in Sustainable Rural Development. Since then he has continued to practise law as well as spending six years in renewable energy project managing investor due diligence on wind and solar projects. Consequently, he is familiar with the investor requirements to be satisfied in order that projects can reach financial close.

Angus has worked on the property, planning, environmental and project contracts elements of renewable energy projects and has experience of Shared Ownership whereby communities are offered an equity share of ownership in renewable energy projects.

With particular interest in the opportunities afforded by Land Reform and Community Empowerment legislation, Angus promotes a negotiated, partnering approach between communities and landowners but can also advise on the statutory procedures of land acquisition if required. His experience in broader rural development means his advice is tailored to promote a community's overall objective(s).

Angus also deals with general property transactions (both domestic and commercial) and crofting law matters.
