John McKissockJohn is a Solicitor and Notary Public. His area of specialism is commercial and residential property law. During a career spanning more than fifteen years he has bought, sold or leased for his clients a wide range of properties including commercial and residential development sites, factories, pharmacies, medical and dental practices, storage and distribution centres, estates of holiday chalets, a snooker hall, hotels, cafes, shops, pubs, art galleries, telecommunication masts,  bus depots, performance venues, office space, social clubs, a fish processing plant, private members clubs, commercial forestry plantations, a loch, garages, mot centres, filling stations, restaurants, and houses great and small across the length and breadth of Scotland.

Areas which he has particular experience of are development in rural locations, the purchase and sale of businesses as going concerns and the acquisition of incomplete, distressed, development projects. He also has carried out licensing work for pubs, restaurants, hotels, fairs and sports stadiums and has acted as a tutor in commercial and residential property law to graduate students at the University of Glasgow.

John has a keen interest in renewables. He has drafted specialist energy contracts and was the author of “The Green Deal Loan for Scottish Property Lawyers”, which was distributed to all GSPC member firms. He is happy to draft bespoke contracts for clients, and has collaborated with a corporate lawyer to produce specialist agreements for land agents.

John lives in Glasgow, enjoys Traditional Music, the theatre, hillwalking and oil painting. He is an ardent student of Gaelic culture and holds a qualification in Gaelic from the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig.
