Professor David Flint
David is a very highly respected and well known Commercial Law Advisor.
David has a wealth of experience as a commercial lawyer and specialises in all aspects of non-contentious intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis on computer-related contracts and issues. He advises on data protection matters and all types of commercial contracts, particularly those with an international element or requiring cross-disciplinary expertise. David has experience in domestic, American and European courts. He has also specialised in corporate insolvency for over 35 years.
David is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association, a fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals, Chairman of the Glasgow Airport Consultative Committee, Director of Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the American Bar Association International Business Law IP Sub-Committee and Chair of the American Bar Association Cyberspace Committee Non-US Cyberlaw Committee.
David lectures extensively in the UK and internationally. He is author of the Stair Encyclopaedia section on European competition law, as well as multiple books and articles on intellectual property law, cyber law and insolvency law.
David has given evidence to the House of Lords Select Committee on European Affairs in relation to competition procedures, in relation to the European Court of First Instance and in relation to European Community Competition Practice.
David spent 40 years at MacRoberts (latterly as senior partner) before joining Inksters as a Commercial Law Consultant in May 2019 and continuing with Inksters as a Commercial Law Advisor since 2024.
