The Home Report is now a Legal Requirement

1 December 2008

From today, every home advertised for sale must, by law, have a Home Report. This report must be ready before your home is advertised. It will contain information about your home, including a survey, that will be made available to prospective buyers on request.

Brian Inkster was one of the 14 solicitors in Scotland who took part in the initial consultation by Communities Scotland which resulted in the Final Report on the 'Purchasers Information Pack' (published in December 2004). Inksters have followed progress closely since then on what has now become known as the Home Report.

Earlier this year Inksters produced a webcast on the Home Report.

Full details of what the Home Report involves can be found in a specific section on Inksters' Scots Property website.
